Jon minus 9

I have been a HUGE fan of Jon & Kate plus 8 since it began. I started watching it when I was on maternity leave and I couldn't get enough. I have all the DVDs and I've read Kate's book. Now.... I'm debating whether or not to watch tonight's episode. Kate has obviously gone Hollywood and Jon appears to resent his family. The show just isn't what it used to be. Like when Emeril shows up at your house to cook with you, you are no longer just your average American family. Not to mention all the product placement which when I watch with Brandon we have to point out to each other by quoting Wayne's world "Little. Yellow. Different." Then there's Jon totally cheating on his wife or "making poor choices" whatever he's doing. He's not even really ON the show anymore. Like he needed a break so he didn't help plan the kids' birthday party. Anyways I feel sorry for those kids. It makes me sad what that family has become.

Got MILK?

Last night we watched MILK. I totally recommend it, especially if you're from the bay area. I got a little teary at the end and a little proud to be from the bay.

memorial day weekend and such...

We had a fun filled memorial day weekend. The weather is already hot, hot, hot! My mom flew in on wednesday and stayed for the weekend. we went to the shark reef at mandalay bay, let's just say if it wasn't for the locals discount I wouldn't go. On Monday we took gracie to mission hills park. They have a huge splash pad... and yes I was the only mommy that made her child wear her tevas with her bathing suit!!! I don't trust the ground there :) On another note, gracie is growing so quickly. Weighing in at 30lbs, her pediatrician says shes the average size of a 3 year old. She knows tons of animal sounds, including owl and sheep and loves to drink out of a straw. She also enjoys throwing things at you and saying "uh-oh". But that's a whole other blog entry.

Flavor of Crafts???

Okay... So i haven't updated the blog in soooo long but I felt this was entirely blog worthy!!! This may be the only thing I like about living in Vegas.... the celebrity sitings. I ran into Michael's crafts tonight to get a button for my shoe. Brandon and Gracie were waiting in the car so I was in a hurry. I turn around and see this guy wearing a huge clock around his neck and its Flava Flave!!! At first I was like no way... Michael's in Henderson??? Why??? So I ran out to the car and I'm like " I think I just saw Flava Flave in Michael's." So Brandon gets Gracie and comes inside. We turn the corner and he's dancing in the isle. He was so everything I thought he would be... The funny thing is that he was going totally unnoticed, then again we were in a craft store.

Once a stoner... always a stoner..

So the day after christmas i went to the emergency for severe side pain and it turns out I have a 4mm kidney stone... which i guess is huge in terms of it being a stone in your organs. The pain was unbearable, but because we were at the emergency room i had to wait it out for an hour before they called me in. Anyways it still hasn't come out yet and because i haven't been at my job for 90 days yet (feb 11) it's going to have to stay in there until i get my insurance. I keep picturing it doing major damage... like scraping at my insides. Anyways i guess my body just makes stones because i also had gallstones which i had major surgery for in 2006. Such a stoner...

neglecting the blog...

Xmas eve with the knights

We spent xmas eve with my parents at our house in Vegas. When I got home from work at 4:30 the festivities were in full swing. First we ate our traditional chinese food. Then we did our annual pajama exchange. This is a spin on one of brandon's family traditions....

Gracie opened her jammies from grandpa

Brandon opened his jammies from my mom...

I opened my jammies from brandon...

My dad opened his jammies from me....

... And then he liked them so much he started to change immediately!

Grammy opened her jammies from gracie....

Then we took our traditional family pic in front of the tree, and watched Home Alone!
